SHOPPING CENTRE NEWS:Nakheel Retail Shopping Malls division to become the largest shopping mall developer in the Middle East by 2012: Nakheel, a Dubai World company and one of the world’s largest and most innovative real estate developers, has announced plans that will make its integrated retail division Nakheel Retail, the largest shopping mall developer and owner in the Middle East by 2012 and one of the largest in the world by 2018.
SHOPPING CENTRE NEWS:Al Futtaim Group Real Estate announces launch of Cairo Festival City – A Festival Everyday.: Al Futtaim announced the launch of Cairo Festival City, a premier, mixed-use 3 million sq m development that connects retail, dining, entertainment, hotels, luxury residential villas and apartments, offices, schools and an automotive park all in one self contained, modern ‘city’. The privately-funded, EGP 20 billion - Cairo Festival City is strategically located at the gateway to New Cairo City on the Ring Road, 20km southeast of greater Cairo and only 15 minutes from Cairo’s International Airport. The principal business districts of Heliopolis and Maadi are within easy reach of Cairo Festival City.

SHOPPING CENTRE NEWS:Al Futtaim to open Bahrain complex in September: The Majid Al Futtaim Group said it will open Bahrain City Centre, slated to be the country's biggest shopping mall, on September 1.
SHOPPING CENTRE NEWS:AMS unveils official leasing of Bahrain’s Downtown Al-Areen mixed-use project: Aswaq Management &Services (AMS), the Abu Dhabi-based Emirati-French joint venture has added new assignments to its existing portfolio of clients and projects. The company today announced the start of official leasing of the 46,000 square metre GLA (Gross Leasable Area) Downtown Al-Areen – a mixed-use property development in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The leasing of the development would be done through Gulf Management & Services (GMS), AMS’ affiliate in the Kingdom of Bahrain. An announcement to this effect was made at the 2008 annual convention of Middle East Council of Shopping Centres (MECSC), being organized at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre between April 21 and 22, 2008.

SHOPPING CENTRE NEWS:BurJuman Signs Strategic Partnership with Dubai World Central: BurJuman, the pioneers in luxury shopping and leaders in retail excellence,announced a strategic partnership in signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dubai World Central (DWC), the 140 square kilometre urban aviation project currently under construction in Jebel Ali, to provide strategic leasing, real estate and marketing consultancy solutions.
TIPS: Site selection is crucial for success: Location, location, location. If ever there was a term that truly defined the long term outcome and potential financial rewards for developers of residential housing stock in recent years, it is this.
