SHOPPING CENTRE NEWS:Emaar Middle East unveils Al Khobar Lakes with launch of exclusive lakefront community: Emaar Middle East (EME), a subsidiary of Emaar Properties PJSC focused on project development in the Middle East region, has rolled out the multi-billion dollar Al Khobar Lakes development with the launch of the first lakefront gated residential community, set amidst 80,000 sq m of serene water-bodies, within the mega project. Spanning over a total area of 4.3 million sq m to be developed in phases, Al Khobar Lakes features villas in a variety of elegant Arabic and Andalusian architectural styles.
SHOPPING CENTRE NEWS:Khan Murjan … A traditional Arabic experience at the heart of Wafi: The latest addition to the Wafi Collection is Khan Murjan, a traditional souk with an Islamic theme and architecture. This unique marketplace environment in Wafi is now officially open, offering customers a whole new sense of shopping with more than 150 bazaar shops with vendors from across the Arab world. Khan Murjan is part of Wafi’s recent extensive developments and it’s most authentic. The inspiration for this project is an original souk that was designed and built in Baghdad in the 14th century and served as an inn for travellers and traders. Wafi’s souk covers 50,000 square feet and is a two level subterranean structure drawing on a diverse range of Islamic architectural influences.

SHOPPING CENTRE NEWS:Plus Properties launches a retail centre in Abu Dhabi: Plus Properties, an upcoming real estate developer in the Middle East, has unveiled an AED 300 million worth landmark commercial project to be located in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the UAE. Within less than a year since the company’s inception, its portfolio of prestigious projects is now worth over AED 4.16 billion.
SHOPPING CENTRE NEWS:Syria - Trading heritage: Syria 's trading heritage spans empires. But while the famed souks of Damascus and Aleppo still bustle with activity, a new shopping experience is being demanded: the air-conditioned souk, commonly known as the shopping mall. Unlike its neighbours, Syria has long been barren ground for shopping malls. The country has, however, undergone something of a retail revolution in recent years and the appearance of foreign goods and international retail chains is one of the most obvious signs of the country's economic liberalization.

SHOPPING CENTRE NEWS:Saudi-led group to build Palestinian mall complex: The Palestine Investment Fund and a Saudi-led group signed a $200 million deal on Wednesday to develop a Palestinian commercial real-estate project in the occupied West Bank.
RETAIL NEWS:Leading retailer Alshaya places jobs and a wider vision on Middle East agenda at WEF: EGYPT. On its opening day, the World Economic Forum in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, heard Mohammed Alshaya focusing attention on the role of private enterprise in the Middle East’s future, and encouraging Middle East business to seek global ambition and break out from the comfort zone of the Middle East. A Co-Chair of the WEF meeting, the Executive Chairman of MH Alshaya Co. spoke during the opening press conference and at an earlier session 'The Making of a Middle Eastern Multinational'. At the press conference Alshaya said: “One of the biggest challenges for the future is ensuring that 90 million jobs are created within the Middle East in the next 20 years.”
RETAIL NEWS: H&M to open Saudi stores staffed by women, for women: H&M, the Swedish retailer, will open the first women-only department store in Saudi Arabia as part of moves to bring more women into the country’s workforce.
