SHOPPING CENTRE NEWS: Emaar's Dubai Marina Mall to house 160 retailers: Dubai Marina Mall, developed by Emaar Malls Group openend December 22, 2008 to capture holiday sales with more stores opening in the lead up to Dubai Shopping Festival. As a lifestyle shopping and leisure destination, Dubai Marina Mall will be the fashion address and entertainment hub for residents in the Dubai Marina.
SHOPPING CENTRE NEWS:Pearl-Qatar to have 350 upscale stores by year-end 2009: The Pearl-Qatar will be home to some 350 stores, some of them representing world’s most renowned luxury brands, by 2009-end.
SHOPPING CENTRE NEWS: The Dubai Mall adds 100 new stores to welcome festive season: The Dubai Mall, one of the world’s largest shopping and entertainment destinations, has added on 100 new stores in less than a month since its opening on November 4, 2008, offering the city’s most dynamic and exciting retail choice for visitors. The mall opening made history in the world retail sector for the maximum number of store openings at the same time.
SHOPPING CENTRE NEWS: Bahrain City Centre puts Kingdom on world shopping map: Shopping and entertainment in Bahrain took a giant leap forward today with the “Grand Opening” of the Bahrain City Centre in the Kingdom’s capital, Manama.
SHOPPING CENTRE NEWS: Majid Al Futtaim Group flying high: Indoor skydiving centre breaks new ground at Mirdif City Centre. Majid Al Futtaim Group’s Leisure and Entertainment division has hit new heights in helping make shopping fun with the announcement of Dubai’s first indoor skydiving centre at a shopping mall.
SHOPPING CENTRE NEWS: Plaza-Level Stores Fully Operational at The Walk in Jumeirah Beach Residence: Dubai Retail, a subsidiary of Dubai Properties Group and a member of Dubai Holding, announced a total of 118 stores and restaurants are now up and running on the plaza level, above ground at The Walk, Dubai's first and only outdoor retail avenue by the sea in Jumeirah Beach Residence.
SHOPPING CENTRE NEWS: Retail base of world's tallest tower, Nakheel Tower to be masterplanned by Portland: Portland Design Associates announced it has been selected as the masterplanner for Dubai's next major retail destination, the shopping mall at the base of the Nakheel Tower.
RETAIL NEWS: First Géant Hypermarket in Kuwait at 360o KUWAIT: Tamdeen Shopping Centers Company announced the debut of leading French hypermarket Géant in Kuwait.
RETAIL NEWS: Extreme and DDG unite to create innovative 'Leisuretainment' experiences: London based lifestyle company, The Extreme Group today announced a partnership with the globally renowned and Baltimore, USA-based Development Design Group Inc. (DDG). This will see the Extreme brand and DDG expand across all continents to anchor retail malls, mixed-use and entertainment developments with a range of “Extreme” facilities including skate boards, climbing walls and surf waves. The joint venture is targeting the Middle East, USA, South East Asia, Europe and India and is already negotiating two projects in the USA and Middle East.
RETAIL NEWS: Giordano International brings Concepts to the Middle East: Giordano launched its new brand, Giordano Concepts with the opening of two iconic stores in the Middle East, one in Saudi Arabia's Mall of Arabia and the second, and largest in the Middle East, at Dubai Mall.
RETAIL NEWS: Saudi offers best retail opportunities - analyst: Retailers looking to enter the Gulf should focus on the untapped Saudi market instead of Dubai, where job cuts and falling tourist spending could hit revenue, a Shuaa Capital analyst has said.
RETAIL NEWS: Italian chain Carluccio's plans Middle East growth: Italian food and cafe chain Carluccio's reported a 14% surge in full-year profits but warned it would not be immune to the worst conditions in the restaurant sector for at least 15 years.
RETAIL NEWS: Sharaf DG opens in Bahrain: Sharaf DG, the UAE's largest electronics retailer, has embarked on an ambitious expansion strategy in the GCC by opening its first store outside the UAE on 15th December 08 in the iconic Bahrain City Centre Mall, the largest shopping mall in the Kingdom.
