More Solutions was founded earlier this year by two partners, Gül Okaygün and Teuta Narazan, to provide strategic planning, retail intelligence and development of new concepts for retailers and shopping centres in Turkey.

Retail International®, from its base in the UK has been operating extensively across the Middle East for many years and Simon Thomson the firm ’s owner is well known in the region. He was a founder of The Middle East Council of Shopping Centres, based in Dubai and has been involved with many high profile projects across the region including, most recently in UAE, Lebanon, Qatar, Oman and Bahrain.

The three partners said that "in coming together More Solutions and Retail International® could now offer an unrivalled range of professional retail services for developers and retailers from the Gulf entering the Turkish market as well as providing exposure to the Gulf for Turkish companies". "We believe the local knowledge of More Solutions combined with the international experience of Retail International® will provide a powerful bank of retail expertise for developers and retailers alike".

More Solutions reckon that there are already some 1.7 million sq. metres of retail shopping centre space in Turkey, about half of which is in Istanbul.

By way of further confirmation of the impending growth expected in Turkey, Tesco recently opened its first store, under the Kipa brand, since moving into the country in 1993. It has plans for further stores over the coming year including 70,000 sq.ft (6505 sq. m) in Antalya by the year end.
